July brought the painful loss of my cousin Imran Rasheed, connected to our family through both my father’s & mother’s sides. His passing brought grief across the wider family & reminded us how quickly an ordinary week can become a permanent memory.
In moments of loss, words are limited. We pray that Allah grants Imran forgiveness, mercy & a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and that He gives patience and strength to everyone mourning him.
The responsibility of remembrance
Remembrance should change how we live. It should move us to call parents and elders, repair distances, make dua for one another & remain reachable when family needs support.
Legacy is not only what a person builds publicly. It is also the care they awaken in others. May this loss deepen our commitment to family connection, prayer & compassion while we still have the opportunity to act.
